December Wedding at Rangiwahia
THOMPSON—JAMES The Methodist Church, Rangiwahia, was the scene of a pretty wedding on ►Saturday, December 21, when Evaliue, elder daughter of Mr. and Airs. A. H. James, of Rangiwahia, was married to Alurray Tcmperley, eldest son of Air. and Mrs. H. Thompson, of Alain {South. The officiating minister was Rev. J. C. Ashworth, while Airs. L. G. Rose presided at the organ. The church had been tastefully decorated by friends of tho bride with pale pink and blue flowers and the organ was massed with white roses.
The bride, escorted by her father, entered the church to the strains of Lohengrin’s Bridal Alarch, aud looked very winsome in her frock of ivory satin, the high cowl neckline being caught at each side with diamante clasps in tho front and the full skirt forming a train at tho back. A beautiful silk embroidered veil, lent by a friend for the occasion, fell from a coronet of orange blossoms, forming a second train. A bouquet of summer flowers in cream tonings completed a dainty toilette.
Her two ’maids, Alisses Mavis James and Alma Thompson, wore pretty frocks of pale pink and blue respectively with floral wreaths and carried posies to tone.
The bridegroom was attended by Air. L. Thompson as best man aud Air. I. James as groomsman.
When tho bride came out of the church, Laureen and Carol Rose strewed her path with cream rose petals. After the ceremony a reception was hold at the home of the bride’s parents, where Mrs. James received her guests wearing a smart henna frock with gold trimmings and she carried a posy to tone, while the bridegroom’s mother wore an ensemble in rust tonings and carried a posy to match. The usual toasts were duly honoured and the hand-
some wedding cake made by the bridegroom’s mother and iced by Airs. C. ►Smith held pride of place ou the bridal table. The floral decorations were pale pink and blue to match the ’maids 1 frocks.
Later the happy couple left by car amid showers of confetti for the honeymoon, which was spent at Taupo and Rotorua, the bride wearing a clover frock, petrel blue coat and hat and accessories to match. Their future home will be at Main South.
