All Saints’ Sunday Schools
BREAK-UP AND PRIZE-GIVING The break-up and prize-giving of All Saints 7 Sunday schools took place last Sunday. The vicar, Canon G. Y. Woodward, visited each of the Sunday schools and congratulated tho superintendents, teachers and children on the year’s work. All Saints 7 .—The three departments have all had a successful year. .Numbers have increased, and the children have showu great keenness in their work. Prizes wore awarded as follows: «Jirla, Joan Bighum, Joan Waller, Della cud Phyllis Smith (tied), Margaret Bigham; boys, Robert Burns, Peter McCulloch, John Langdale, Frank and John Robson (tied). Prizes for attendance were awarded to Anu Langley, Leslie Ellis, Diauuu Perrin, Helen Burr, Noeliue Ax, Ann Dodson. Messrs. G. H. Benuet’s special prize went to Bill Lemberg. Junior department. —Girls, Margaret llill, Audrey Barrow, Shirley Dawick, Nola Kennedy, Maureen Ellis, Dons Uelgrave atid Jean Hardie (tied); boys, Peter Young, Keith Moore, Bob Belgravc, Clyde Smith, Matthew Clayton und Graham llardie (tied). In the kindergarten each child received a card. Takaro.—At Takuro the children themselves suggested that they, would forego prizes this year so that the money so saved could be sent to England for air raid relief. Special mention however was made of the following children fur good attendance, conduct and knowledge, Margaret Feasey and Mervvn Withers in tho kindergarten and Betty Knteliffe, Rita Norman and Alan Norman in the senior department. Tho vicar has accepted with regret the resignation of tho superintendent, Mr. Hall, who has run this Sunday school with great success for a number of years. Mr. Hall finds that he no longer cun devote as much time and energy to this work as ho has done iu the past. West End.—West End is making great strides under its young and capable superintendent, Miss Bovin Prizes were awarded to: Beth Palmer, Mary Harris, Arthur Nichol, Margaret Tremaine, David Harris, June Christenson, in the first grade ; Elaino Bergstrom, Lorna Bonberg and Ashley Williams in the second, and in the infanta department, to Shirley Williams, Joan Cooper, Brian Wells, Douglas Hunter, Heather McKay, Millie Ratenbury, Maureen Field, Beverley Edmonds and Joan McKay.
Ward Street. —At Ward Street Sunday School each child received a card and prizes wore awarded to Peter Jones, Bob Jones, Donald Jones, Stephen Smith aud Shirley Dawson.
