The amount aimed at has been ex ceeded equalling £265 15s 7d. The Girls’ High School also gave half the proceeds of their Gala Day equalling £4l 18s 9d, making the total from the public schools £306 14s 4d. The card evening at the A. and P. Association rooms on Thursday yielded just under £25 and the committee is in debted to Miss Pickering for organizing the effort, and to those who kindly provided and dispensed supper.
