Roosevelt May Attend Lothian’s Funeral
AMBASSADOR’S REMAINS TO BE CREMATED Received Sunday, 5.5 p.m. WASHINGTON, Dec. 14. A British source has revealed that President Roosevelt is likely to attend Lord Lothian’s funeral since he is cutting short his cruise and landing at Charleston (South Carolina) to-day, reaching Washington by train on Sunday. The State Department anouncod that Lord Lothian’s body would be cremated and the ashes interred temporarily in the Arlington national cemetery, the resting place of America’s military heroes on Monday. The cremation will take place after the memorial service in the cathedral of Bt. Peter and St. Paul on Sunday. The interment will be with full military honours. The ashes will be deposited in a vault under the mast of the memorial of the battleship Maine until the family aud the British Government decide on its final resting place.
