More Gift Parcels Solicited
FEILDING TO PARTICIPATE IN SUPPLYING More gift parcels are required to be prepared for our troops overseas. The National Patriotic Fund Board hnjj requested the Wellington Provincial Council to prepare 6000 parcels early in February. The Feilding district will be required to find its quota and arrangements are in hand for this to be attended to. No cigarettes or tobacco are to be packed in the parcels. The National Bund Board is purchasing these in bond and they will be sent separately for tli6 troops abroad. One of the various reasons for this is that in future cigarettes will be packed in paper cartons owing to shortage of tins, and consequently would not, be suitable to be packed in parcels as they would arrive in a poor condition. The parcels should be packed aa neat ly as possible to conserve freight space and should be made up as follows: Two handkerchiefs, I packet safety razor blades, 1 tin milk, or coffee and
milk or hone}', 1 tin sweets, 1 tin foot powder or boracio powder, 1 cake of soap in tin, 1 writing pad and envelopes, 1 cake or small cakes in tin.
