Goilis; sweets, Mesuawes C. B. Hamlin uud P. Hunt; plain and iancy stall, Mrs. iiuuerts; meat, Mrs. T. vValsu; ice cream, Misses M. Pearson aud O. V’oss; caaos, Mesdames IL. V oss and A. b. Podley. Afternoon tea was dispensed under the able supervision of Mrs. AL E. bmith. The following is the list of prize-winners in the various competitions:—Cake competitions (Mrs. M. Will, judge), sultana cake, Mrs. T. W. Grayson 1, Mrs. U. d. Hamlin 2; sponge sandwich, Miss J. bmith 1, Mrs. 0. it. Hunt 2; shortbread, Mrs. J. Print 1, Miss J. Smith 2; lawn competitions, miniature golf, K. (J. Gloyu and Miss P. Clausen; quoit.*, Miss J. Smith and J. Print, cork spearing, Miss M, Pearsun uud T. Grayson; nail driving, Mrs. J. Print and Mr. Gloyu. Patriotic Committee Meeting Some liftcen members attended the meeting of the Patriotic Committee, Mr. A. N. Moreoin presiding. Apologies for absence were received from Mr. and Mrs. b. Annitago and Mrs. W. A. Churchill. The chairman spoke feelingly of the loss sustained by Mr. and Mrs. Armitage in the recent loss of their son, the late Air. Armitage, members standing in silence us a marl, of respect. The report of the treasurer, Mr. H. Fox, showed that the committee held some fifty pounds as a result of recent activities and it was decided that this should be handed over to Zone E immediately. A considerable amount had already been collected in a house-to-house canvass, but only a few collectors’ cards had been completed, canvassers were urged to complete their circuit as soon as possible so that the total could be handed over at an early date. The question of a garden party was discussed at length, but no further action was taken. The next meeting of the committee will be held as usual on the la; Monday in January. Home Guard Enrolment for the Home Guard is still proceeding, and the total for this area is now over seventy. Intending guardsmen are reminded that they may enrol with either Mr. A. Trenkner or Mr. L. H. Yarrall, and the more quickly enrolment is completed, the sooner it will be possible to proceed with organisation of platoons in the district.
