India’s Contribution To War Effort
(British. Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Dec. 21. India’s contribution to the Empire uai effort continued to increase during November. Jute mills are now making shells and production, has begun of a new 25-pound shell and small arms ammunition for air warfare. Large quantities of electric cable have been produced for naval use and the manufacture of light portable bridges in sections not previously undertaken in India has now begun. The handloom industry is being developed to meet the deficiency in millmade blankets. Service clothing factories manufactured during October half a million articles. The pre-war total of 5000 army motor vehicles' has been increased to about 30,000 on hand or on order and the figure will be doubled next year.
