OPENING OF PALMERSTON NORTH SEASON Tho season was officially opened by the patron of the Manawatu League, Mr. W. Wallace Cook, at Hokowhite Domain on Saturday. Results:— Airways 18 beat United 11.—Airways played well, but poor fielding by United lost the game for them. De Forrest for Airways and B. Ryder for United scored home runs. Palmerstonians 36 beat Highway Stars 27.—This game was very exciting. W. Tremewan, W. Pere Andre and Don Harris hit home runs for Highways, while K. Smith and G. Foreman scored home runs for Palmerstonians. Airways 14 beat Cooks Cubs 7. Although no home runs were hit, both teams fielded very well, as indicated by the low score.
