Kimbolton

(From Our Own CorresponflentO On Monday last the members of the Kiwitea-Kimbolton Young Farmers Club organised a shearing demonstration in Mr. Bruce Smith’s woolshed. There was present a large crowd of young fellows keen to learn the rudiments of shearing and also many spectators. Mr. H. Johnson, a well known shearer with much experience gave a demonstration on tho grinding and handling of the machinery and ha no pieces: also the correct method of shear ing. This was followed with interest and about twenty young fellows tried their hands at shearing. The wool was under the supervision of Mr. H. Waugh, who gave to tho audience much of his experience gained whilst a pupil of Massey College and the great, wool stores telling the correct method cd classing the wool and the rolling of the fleeces ready for pressing. The whole demonstration should prove use ful to young farmers who are keen to learn the art as many competent shearers are at present serving with th 6 Forces. The club desires to thank Mr Alex Lawson for the loan of the sheep, Mr. Bruce Smith for the use of his shed, Mr. Gordon Fitzpatrick for organising the proceedings and Messrs H. Johnson and H. Waugh for their interesting demonstrations.
