Factory Instructor Farewelled

COMPLIMENTARY DINNER GIVEN BY MANAGERS A farewell dinner wa3 tendered to Mr. M. J. Syron, dairy factory instructor, by the members of the Bush Factory Managers’ Association on Thursday evening. A presentation was made to Mr. Syron, who is to take up the position of chief grader at tho port of Dunedin after spending 12 years as factory instructor for the Bush, Wairarapa, Marlborough and Nelson districts. At this gathering every factory in the district was represented by its manager and Mr. L. J. Heayns (Pahiatua) presided. Bidding farewell to a well-liked, capable and tactful officer who was efficient but never over-zealous in the execution of his duty, Mr. Heayns extended the good wishes of the gathering to Mr. Syron for his future happiness and presented him with a solid leather suitcase. He also welcomed Mr. Syron’s successor, Mr. Foy. Other speakers were Messrs. R. W. Foss (Hukanui), L. R. Wards (Rex dale), Rankin (farm instructor) and L. S. Young (Woodville j. Replying, Mr. Syron stated that he was in some way 3 sorry to be leaving. He had always received the greatest hospitality on his visits and he asked managers to convey his thanks to their wives for many kindnesses.
