Paid Patriotic Secretary
MR. MANSI’ORD REPLIES TO WANGANUI The Mayor of Palmerston North (Mr. A. E. .Hansford) when, interviewed regarding ihe Press Association message from Wanganui referring to the meeting of the Wanganui City Fatriotic Committee, and tho discussion on the subject of paid secretaries for patriotic work, stated: ‘*l have very little to add and nothing to detract from my previous statement. Mr. H. M. Keesing's suggestion of parochial jealousy, in fact the whole tone of his statement, is unworthy of one professing a desire for harmony in the Empire's life and death struggle, and I am cure he will regret some of his statements when the facts are disclosed. **
