Mr. Willkie Replies To Mr. Roosevelt
Received Wednesday, 10 p.m. WASHINGTON, Oct. 29. Mr. Wendell Willkie, the Republican nominee for the Presidency, broadcasting, said Mr. Roosevelt had unfairly accused him of ‘‘me, too-ing - regarding aid to Britain. “If there is any difference thereon, it is that I want to place behind Britain the industrial organisation of a revitalised, fullyoperating America,” he declared. “I tried to keep Britain out of politics, but the President tossed it in. It is conceivable that there may be a wish to delay effective and immediate aid to Britain in order to make a right impression at the right time, purely for political reasons.”
