Laval Trying to Persuade Vichy
Germany’s Terms For Temporary Peace OCCUPATION TILL WAR OVER United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Wednesday, 11.5 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 29. Reuter's Stockholm correspondent says a temporary peace has already been signed providing for the German occupation of France until the war between Britain and Germany is over. Tho correspondent adds that M. Laval is trying to persuade the Council of Ministers at Vichy to accept the following terms: (1) Alsace Lorraine to be ceded to Germany; (2) A free zone to bo established extending from Switzerland to the North Sea; (3) Franco to give up the Maritime Alps between France and Italy close to the Riviera; (4) Tunis and part of Algeria to be coded to Italy; (5) Germany to be granted the use of naval and air bases for the duration of the war; (6) Indo-China to be handed to Japan. (7) French Morocco to be ceded to Spain.
