Model Aeroplanes
Teams from Wellington, Foxton, Pal* mertson North and Mastertou met in competition at Hood Aerdrome, Masterton, during the week-end, when the inter-club model aeroplane contests were held. The winning flight in tho championship by a Foxton competitor established a New Zealand record. Results included:—Texaco championship: B. Daws (Foxton), smin. 23sec. Gilders, hand-launched: V. Wooif (Wellington), 93 3-ssec., 2; R. Freeman (Wellington), 45sec., 3. Gliders, towline: E. Thornly (Wellington), 233 4-sscc., 1; B. Matthews (Masterton), 156 4-ssec., 2; U. Fulton, 117 4-ssec., 3. Spar: L. Tozer (Masterton), 125 3-ssoc., 1; C. Woolf (Wellington), 115 l-ssec., 2; E. Thornly (Wellington), 110 2-ssec., 3. Juniors gaining tho highest points in all events: B. Matthews (Masterton), 156 4-sscc., 1; A. Carmichael, 99 4-ssec., 2; E. Watson (Wellington), 31 l-ssec., 3. Gas models: A. Rowe (Masterton), 1; L. Gower (Foxton), 2. The Vincent Inter-club Cup, competed for between Wellington and Masterton, was again won by Wellington by 17 points to 9.
