Pigs, Poultry and Produce

Tho Dominion Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Falmerston North, report receiving a capacity yarding of pigs at their weekly sale, porkers and baconcrs being in keen demand. Good weaners averaged 22s each. There was an exceptionally Keen demand for poultry, hens selling to 0s 6d each and prime cockerels to 4s each. Vegetables were in heavy suppiy, fair prices ruling for all classes. We quote as follows: —

Pigs. —Best weaners, 203 to 255, medium 17s to 19s; sips, 27s Gd to 32., Gd; heavy stores, 403 to 465; medium stores, 30s to 38s; heavy porkers, £3, £3 4s to £3 13s; medium porkers, £2 8s to £2 10a 6d.

Poultry.—Heavy 8.0. hens, 5s to 6a 6d each; best W.L. hens, 4s to 4s lOd each; light hens, 3s to 3s 6d each; prime cockerels, 33 6d to 4s each; light cockerels, Is to 2s 6d each; ducks, 2s 6d to Is each; pullets, 4s to 5s each; roosters, 2s 6d to 4s each; duck with ducklings, 20s; hens with chicks, to 14s 3d.

Produce.—H.H. tomatoes, 2s 6d to 2s 7d lb.; asparagus, 8s Id to 9s 6d doz.; lettuce, prime 9s Gd to 12s Gd case, others 4s to 7s Gd case; cauliflowers, sacks 7s to 10s Gd, cases 2s to 5s 3d; cabbage, prime 6s 6d to 7s 9d case, others 4s to 5s 6d case; spinach, 33 to 7s 9d case; rhubarb, 4s to 8s doz.; leeks, 4d to 8d bunch; radishes, Is 4d to 2s id doz.; carrots, 3s to 4s bag; parsnips, 3s to 5s case; swedes, 43 to 6s bag; peas, 5d to 8d lb.; new potatoos, ljd to ljd lb.; beetroot, 3s to 4s 6d case; onions, 18s to 203 bag.
