Increase in Price of Cast Iron

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Oct. 24. Regulations authorising an increase in. the price of cast iron to £5 Iss per ton for first grade and £5 per ton for second grade were issued by the Price Tribunal to night. In June last a price order was issued fixing the maximum prices of cast iron at £4 15s and £4 for first and second grades respectively and scrap merchants availed themselves of any scrap yield collectable within an economic radius, but the prices fixed •were insufficient to induce the collection at a distance w r ith the result that scrap merchants are at present unablo to offer supplies. In order to obviate this difii culty and encourage more effective col lection the order increasing tho prices has been made.
