Fair and Mederate Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Oct. 0. An anti-cyclone covers the Northern Tasman Sea and the North Island, while a depression is advancing across the South Tasman Sea. Winds; From between north and west gradually prevailing, force strong at times about and south of Cook iftrait but otherwise moderate. A change to moderate south-westerlies should extend over most of the South Island during to-morrow. Seas (New Zealand waters): Becoming rather rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits; elsewhere slight to moderate but rising somewhat on the West Coast of 'the South Island. Eastern Tasman Sea: Winds from a westerly quarter predominating, strong but later decreasing in the central and southern portion with rather rough to rough seas but elsewhere moderate in force with slight to moderate seas. Weather: Fair to fine generally at first; conditions soon becoming unsettled, however, in Westland and later in Southland with rain developing from the south and west in tbe eastern districts of the South Island; some scattered showers accompanying the southwesterly change.
