Marton Airman Missing
PILOT-OFFICER N- ANDREW Advice has been received from the Air ATinistry by Air. and Airs. Isaac Andrew, ‘ ‘Eccleston, ” MartoD, that their son, Pilot-Officer Neville Halsey Andrew, is reported missing as the result of air operations, and that enquiries are being made through the Inter national Red Cross at Geneva. Mr. Neville Andrew, who is 21 years of age, was a pupil of the Hokowhitu School, Palmerston North, in 1930-31, when his parents resided here, his father being lecturer in sheep manage ment at, Massey College. Subsequently they moved to Alarton, where Air. Neville Andrew continued his education at the District High School. He was accepted for the Civil Reserve Air Force ■ ■ in 1937 for two years’ training at the' Wanganui Aero Club, and accepted for training for the Royal Air Force in June, 1939, proceeding to Wigram in September, 1939. He left for England in February of this year, and after ; more advanced training was posted to ; a bomber squadron.
