£1,000,000 Effort
WOODVILLE AND DANNEVIRKE MEETING Useful information and guidance iu the matter of raising tho district 'a quota of the £1,000,000 appeal was gained by Woodville representations on Saturday in their conference with the Dominion organiser (Major Abel) at Dannevirke. Arrangements were made with Major Abel to make a stop at Dannevirke, thus obviating a journey to Hastings by representatives at this end of the Hawke’s Bay area. The Mayor (Mr. It. R. Johnston), Mr. D. Keay (secretary of the Patriotic Society), and Mr. E. D. Cattanach (Woodville County Council) comprised the Woodville party. The quota of £1350 is regarded as a challenge to the Woodville district, which has its limitations as to area and population, but there is no doubt that it will be taken up in the most optimistic spirit.
