Cheltenham

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The annual meeting of the Cheltenham Tennis Club presided over by Air. E. Sinclair (president) was well attended and augurs well for the new season. The chib’s funds show a substantial balance there being well over £l3 in hand. Air. Sinclair congratulated the club on the healthy state of the funds and thanked members and residents who had assisted with work at the courts and the executive and social committee for their assistance during the season. Thinks were also duo to Airs. Short and the patron (Air. C. G. C. Dermer) for donations, and to tho auditor (Air. Alaguire.) • Tho club owed a debt of gratitude to Air. AT. Short (■secretary) for his untiring efforts. Air. R. Petersen endorsed the president’s remarks. The election of officers resulted: Patron, Air. C. G. Q. Dermer; president, Air. E. Sinclair; vice-presi-dents, Alessrs J. A. Wither and C. Anderson; secretary, Air. Af. Short; assistant secretary, Air. E. J. Sinclair; auditor, Mr. Alaguire; club captain, Air. D. Sinclair; vice-captain, Air. R. Petersen; committee. Alessrs. It. AI. Anderson, J. Anderson, and L. Murray, Airs. R. AI. Anderson and Aliases I. .Anderson and J. Wither, and ejected officers; ladies’ committee,. Alesdames E. Sinclair. R. Afismarck, H. AlcFarlane and R. AI. Anderson and Aliss I Anderson; club delegates, Alessrs. R. Petersen and D. Sinclair. The delegates asked for an expression of opinion as to what should bo their attitude if there was any effort to revive play for the Guy Cup this season. The general feeling was that unless petroJ restrictions were eased considerably the competitions should lapse. It was decided that free membership or the season ho given to the boy and girl a tthe top of the school ladder on October 11. A working bee was arranged or October 5, and the courts will be opened by the patron on October 12.
