(From Our Own Correspondent.) Methodist Guild

Airs. J. Ashworth presided at the meeting of the Methodist Guild held on Tuesday afternoon. Mesdames L. Guy, L. Afartin, H. Wildbore and Misses B. Churcher, G. Digby and H. Andrews were also present. The president led the devotions. A social competition was won by Airs. Alartin. Calf Pool Committee Tho committee of the Apiti-Rangi-wahia Bobby Calf Pool mpt in Apiti on Monday evening. Air. .T. D. Ivilgour presided and Afessrs. AY. E. Boshier and E. G. Billingliurst (of Kangiwahia) and Messrs. A. AV. Viles, A. W. Bensemann and L. A. Afartin (secretary, of Apiti) were present. At the annual meeting of the P.Af.A. it was agreed' that calf pool representatives should be elected to the board when the pool is operating. After discussion the committee voted for a representative from the four names submitted. There will shortly be a re-arrangement for collection of calves and the once-a-week collection commences in both places from Tuesday next, October 1, but there will be the usual collection in Apiti today (Friday.) Personal AH. and Airs. A. G. Prince were pleased to receive advice that' their son Private R. A. Prince with the First Echelon in Egypt, has been removed from the seriously ill list. Afiss Helen Andrew, of Palmerston North, is visiting Apiti relatives and is staying with her aunt, Airs. L. Guy. ; Airs. H. Schmidt has had her parents, Air. and Airs. D. Calder, of Kimbolton, nnd her sister, Aliss Areta Calder, of Wellington, staying with her recently.

Alesdames J. R. Osborne. A. E. Prujean, Af. A. Harland and F. Willis are arranging the social programme at the next meeting of the Apiti W.I. when there will be a members* market stall, and competitions for a date loaf, an oven cloth and “my best bloom.” Alembcrs wishing to bring gifts for the lepers will be helping towards a parcel from the women’s institute.
