Lady Galway Patriotic Guild
FEILDING SENDS MANY CASES OF CLOTHING The Feilding branch of the Lady Galway Patriotic Guild has been veryactive in organising for the collection of clothing for refugees and the secretary, Mrs. M. A. Edwards,' has received a congratulatory letter from the New Zealand secretary of the Guild expressing appreciation for the promptness with which the appeal was handled and the manner in which the clothing was prepared and packed. In acknowledging the 28 cases of clothing the Feilding branch sent forward, the letter stated that the garments were all in good order and the branch was to be congratulated on the prompt manner in which the clothing was handled and despatched. It should be mentioned that a large committee of ladies under the Mayoress, Mrs. R. Beddon, performed yeoman service in dealing with the largo quantities of gift clothing received. The branch acknowledges gifts of clothing from the following: Kangiwahia YY’omen’s Institute, Rangiwahia Bewing Guild, Foxton Beach Bowing Circle, Awahuri Patriotic sub-committee, Ban-
son Patriotic Sewing Guild, Cheltenham Institute, MakinO Sewing Club, Kimbolton Sewing Guild, South Road Sewing Guild, Mrs. Smith, Marton Junction YVomen’s Institute, Rongotea Methodist Ladies’ Guild, Mrs. Mcßeth, Apiti School children (peggy squares), Pohangina Sewing Guild, Awahuri Bewing Guild, Oroua Downs Patriotic sub-com-mittee, Ohakca Patriotic sub-committee, Table Flat Institute, YYaiata Institute, Apiti Institute, Mrs. Lugg 30s (proceeds euchre party), Valley Road Patriotic sub-committee, Parewanui Institute, Bunnythorpe Institute, Red Cross Bewing Guild, and from many citizens as well as numerous anonymous gifts.
