Instead of the usual card evening last week the institute joined with the

school committee and residents of the district in tendering a farewell evening to Mr. and Mrs. Tattle who are leaving the district. The early part of the evening was given to Flag 500, being won by Mrs. Rogers and Miss N. Young, and Messrs. W. Aparina and M. War-brick. After supper dancing was the order, the music being supplied by members of the piano accordion band. At a suitable junction Mr. Last-Harris. on behalf of tho women’s institute, school committeo and residents presented Mr. and Mrs. Tattle with a beautiful silver tea service and wall mirror. Mr. Tattle suitably replied and musical honours were accorded the guests. On Friday evening neighbours and friends gathered at tho residence to bid farewell to Mr. Andrews who has sold his farm. A very enjoyable evening was spent, the cards being won by Mrs. Last-Harris and Mr. Osborne. After supper Mr. Last-Harris, on behalf of all present asked Mr. Andrews to accept a pipe as a small token of esteem in which he was held. In replying Mr. Andrews stated that he would not be far away and would still give a helping hand at any time when needed.
