Boys’ High School Entertainment
On Monday and Tuesday next in tfye Little Theatre the Dramatic Club of the Palmerston North Boys' High School, assisted by the school dance orchestra and choir, will present a concert of a varied and interesting nature. Three one-act plays and two dramatic interludes will be presented, which range from comedy and farce to tragedy. The programme will include “Irion of Sparta," the Greek tragedy which recently secured second place in the senior Manawatu Centennial drama festival; “Birds of a Feather" (J. O. Francis' delightful comedy of the outdoors); “In the Cellar" (a bright farce
revealing the embarrassment of a war profiteer in a 1917 air raid on London); “The Death Trap" (a fast-moving portrayal of a young prince's last hours on his throne); and “The Robinsons' Refugee" (a humorous presentation built around conditions in England late in 1939). The proceeds will be divided equally between patriotic and school funds.
