(To the Editor.)

Sir, —His Alajesty the King has requested that Sunday next be observed as a special day of prayer. In view' of the critical times through which the world is at present passing, and the grave situation which now' faces our Empire, we appeal to all our people to obey the request of the King, and unite iu common prayer next Sunday.

This they can do by attending at various churches at the usual hours for worship, and in nil * churches special intercessions for our Empire, our soldiers, sailors and airmen, the sufferers from tho w'ar, and prayers for victory and for peace will be offered.
