Hospital Auxiliary Reviews Month’s Work

Mrs. M. Aitchison presided over the May meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Women's Auxiliary held yesterday in the City Council Chambers, also present being Mesdames W. Mouldey, J. Stone, A. E. Mansford, T. R. Moore, T. Saunders, H. Fry, Miss E. Clark, Mrs. S. J. Parkes (hon. secretary). There were apologies from Mesdames F. J. Nathan, J. A. Nash, R. Spraggon, A. Wilson and Miss L. M. Banks. Leave of absence for six months was granted Mrs. J. A. Nash. Airs. A. E. Mansford acknowledged with grateful thanks a letter received extending sympathy in her recent illMiss M. Matheson, secretary of the Palmerston North branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ L'nion wrote in appreciation of a gift of clothing for a mother and baby, the mother also writing in grateful terms. A parcel of baby clothes, bed socks and bonnet from the Cogs of the children’s page of the “Manawatu Daily Times" was gratefully acknowledged. Miss Clark reported that the sewing circle had been active in making baby clothes and wool had been bought which members undertook to knit into singlets. With regard to the annual street day, it was decided to proceed v,<th this provided it was not necessary to give way to some more urgent appeal.
