LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY’S PRODUCTION The possibilities for thrills, romance, humour and pathos in “The Soul of Nicholas Snyders," tho three-act mystery play from the facile pen of Jerome K. Jerome, may be gathered from tho strange company round whom the story is written. The Little Theatre Society has entrusted this first stage production for 1940 40 the capable hands of Miss Patricia Harmau, who has had a splendid team in rehearsal for many weeks. And so wo find Nicholas Snyders, a miser (Mr. A. G. A. Baigent), Christina, his maid (Mrs. Reay Stubbs), Jan, a sailor in love with Christina (Mr. A. Gibsone), Dame Toelost, a rich old woman betrothed to Nicholas (Mrs. C. L. Turnbull), Pieto Bles, mate of the

‘ ‘ \an Dyke" (Mr. A. Coles), Vrow Molevaar (Mrs. T. Bennett), Burgomaster de Haas (Mr. F. Aisher), Glaas, a barber (Mrs. E. Cook), Stoop, an artist (Rev. D. V. deCandole), a pedlar of mysterious wares (Mr. G. H. Lusk), a child (Suzanne Lewer). Tho action of the play takes place in an old mill and the time “Once upon a time." With the picturesque Dutch costumes, the setting and dressing suggest pictures of some old Dutch masters. The three-night season opens in the Little Theatre (Opera House) on Monday next.
