COMMITTEE OF WOODVILLE CLUB MEETS A meeting of the committee of the Woodvillo Hockey Club was held in the Borough Council Chambers on Tuesday evening, Mr. S. Worboys (chairman) presiding over a good attendance of members. Considerable discussion took place on the question of the club’s participation in the flve-a-side tourney tc ! be held at Feilding on the King's Birth- ■ day, it being finally resolved to arrange ! lor as many teams as possible to take ■ part. j The date and place for the playing of j the Campbell Shield competition also received consideration, on tne motion of Messrs K. Strand and Worboys, Mr. lE. Stitt was delegated to approach tho •donor of the trophy, Mr. S. Campbell, I with a view to ascertaining whether he j would agreo to the tourney being played ‘at Palmerston North this season.
j The secretary, Mr. J. Hardy, was instructed to write to Trooper G. Butler, a forAer club secretary, at present ! serving in Egypt with the First Eche!lon, 2nd N.Z.E.F., giving him a report *on the progress of the Woodville Hockey , Club.
