CHAMPION SINGLES TITLE TO SKOGLUND Iho Manawatu Bowling Centre’s annual champion of champions singles contest was played on the Northern Club’s green on Saturday, resulting in a win for Skoglund, tho representative of tho Northern Club. In the final he met Bull (Levin) and at the conclusion of the 21st head the scores were level, t»—10. A replay was thus necessitated, and after 13 heads, with the score 24—2 against him, Bull retired. Having played four previous games, as compared with Skoglund’s three, he was a tired man.
Results wore as follow: First round: Bull (Levin) 13 v. Hanley (Terrace End) 17. Second round: Bull 23 v. Gillum (Hokowhitu) 15; Fisher (Takaro) 17 v. Kerslako (Palmerston North) 12; Skoglund (Northern) 29 v. Roach (Shannon), 12; Tantrum (Manawatu) 17 v. Mules (Woodville) 14. Semi-finals: Bull 3 8 v. Fisher 12; Skoglund 25 v. Tantrum 14. Final: Skoglund 24 v. Bull 2. GALLICHAN TAKES COLTS TITLE Gallichan (Palmerstor North) won the colts singles championship on Saturday. Results of the various games, which were played on the Hokowhitu Club's green, w r ere as follows: First round: Bibby (Woodville) 20 v. Curry (Terraco End) 32. Second round: Levy (Manawatu) 19 v. Bibby 13; Thorne (Shannon) 22 v. Heatley (Hokowhitu) 16; Walker (Takaro) 38 v. Wilson (Northern) 37; Gallichan (Palmerston North) 38 v. Mitchell (Levin) 32. Semi-finals: Gallichan 20 v. Walker 30; Thorne 16 v. Levy 14. Final: Gallichan 22 v. Tohrne 10. PENNANT BOWLS
