Grader Driver Dies From Severe Injuries

ACCIDENT ON HUTT ROAD Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 15. Severe injuries to the face, head and body from which he died soon after being admitted to hospital were received by L. Simmonds, married, of Newtown, Wellington, when he fell from a grader on the Hutt Road late this afternoon. Tho accident occurred at a point where the Public Works Department has considerable equipment used in the reconstruction of the road. As Simmonds fell from the grader, his clothing was caught in sDme part of the moving machinery. He was dragged along the road for a short distance, and, it is believed, the injuries he received were inflicted by one of the wheels supporting the heavy vehicle.
