Turkey is making a spirited effort to organise an air force, largely with British assistance. Poland ’» speedy devastation under Germany’s aerial superiority has done more to convince the Turks of tho need for planes and anti-aircraft defences than years of theorising. British instructors aro teaching young officers to fly. Turkey has recently been experimenting with different types of machines, securing British, German, Polish and American totalling 225. A hundred new British machines aro now being assembled, and French and American ones have also been ordered.
