Fair and Mild Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 14. Tho pressure continues relatively high in the north but has fallen in the south with the approach of a depression. Winds: Variable in the northern half of the North Island but elsewhere directions between north and west prevailing; force strong in some exposed positions south of Cook Strait; otherwise slight to moderate. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough to rough south of Cape Egmont and about Cook and Foveaux Straits; slight to moderate elsewhere. Eastern Tasman: Light to moderate and variable winds in the northern portion and strong northerlies in the southern, changing later to southwesterly; seas slight in the north, rough in tho south. Weather: Unsettled in the western and far southern portions of the South Island with rain at times; otherwise fair to cloudy and mild but scattered showers later extending to Wellington and Taranaki.
