Short Yarding Yesterday LITTLE ALTERATION IN VALUES Small entries in all departments greeted operators at yesterday’s Fcilding live stock sale, when there was little quotable variation in the values. • Fat prices for both sheep and cattle | were firm, and in the other sections the realisations were in accordance with the quality. Hogget Mutton Hogget mutton prices were fully firm with sales as follows:—10 on account E. McFarland at 395; three at 18s Id; 12 on account C. Stevens at 17s; two on account L. B. Green at 19s; 12 on account Anderson Estate at 18s 7d; 17 at 20s 3d; 16 at 18s; 17 at 24s 6d; five at 20s 3d. Blackface Mutton Realisations for blackface mutton were:—Six wethers at 21s Id; seven hoggets at 17s Id; seven ewes on account E. Kerrigan at 15s Id. Spring Lambs A small offering of spring lamb was included, the pen of light lambs making 15s. Ewe Mutton The quality of the ewe mutton offered varied considerably, w r ith prices as follows: —18 on account of the Short Estato at 16s Id, 23 at 15s 3d and 22 at 14s 6d; 27 on account Anderson Estate at 14s 7d, 21 at 11s 6d and 11 at 9s lOd; eight on account J. H. Rutherford at 15s 9d; two on account G. E: Nairn at 20s; 17 at 15s 6d; 13 at 14s 9d; 14 at 13s; 30 at 12s 6d; 18 at 13s 6d; 30 at 12s 6d; 11 at 14s 9d. Fat Wethers Prices for wether mutton remained on a par with those ruling last week, the realisations being as follows:—31 on account E. Kerrigan at 19s 9d and 15 at 17s 3d; 66 on account A. K. Simpson at 20s and 15 at 20s Id; 11 at 18s 4d; 35 at 17s 8d; three at 18s 6d; four at 17s; and five at 20s 6d. Store Sheep Very few store sheep were yarded, the offering being made up of 2-th. ewes and wethers, all of which had been shorn. The values were in keeping with the quality and reflected no quotable change. Sales were recorded as follows:—23B 2-th. ewes, 23s Id; 157 2-th. ewes, 22s lOd; 96 2-th. ewes on account A. Waldin, 245; 20 4-th. wethers on account A. Waldin, 16s Id; 74 2-th. wethers on account A. F. Waldin, 15s 9d; 74 do., 16s lid; 33 4-th. wethers on account W. Beazer, 16s 7d; rfO 2-th. wethers, 14s 6d; 13 b.f. 2-ths., 16s 9d. Fat Cattle The beef market was quite firm, the limited offering being quickly disposed of to local butchers. Sales were made as follows:—Four prime run cows on account O. A. Collis, £lO ss; ex-dairy cows and heifers, £3 10s, £3 15s, £4 12s Gd, £4 15s, £4 17s 6d, £5, £5 2s 6d, £5 ss, £5 10s, £5 17s Cd, £6, £6 10s to £7; runners, £3 10s; vealer, 15s. Station Cattle The entry of station cattle was made up of small pens of mostly yearlings. The market was quiet with practically no variation on late rates. The following sales were recorded:—22 light 2-yr. steers, £4 16s; 28 yearling A.A. heifers, £3 13s; 44 yearling A.A. heifers, £2 12s 6d; 12 Hereford heifers, £2 17s; 22 2-yr. A.A. heifers, £3 19s; 11 mixed coloured steers, £4; 32 yearling A.A. steers, £4; 53 yearling A.A. heifers, £2 7s 6d; 21 Hereford heifers, £2; 11 A.A. cows, £4; 31 bullocks, £10; 11 A.A. yearling steers, £2 14s; 35 yearling A.A. steers, £3 ss; 20 A.A. cows, £4 2s. Store Cattle There was a moderate offering of boner cows for which the market was fully firm. Realisations were as follows:—£1 12s Cd, £1 16s, £2, £2 9s, £2 3 os, £3, £3 ss, £3 7s, £3 7s fid, £3 10s, £3 12s fid, £3 14s, £3 15s, £3 17s 6d, £4 to £4 10s. Dairy Cattle A light yarding of dairy cattle found the market fully firm for good-quality Leasts. Sales were recorded as follows: —On account T. Hicks, a cow in milk realised £lO 12s Gd, and a springing heifer on the same account made £lO 2s 6d; springing cows, £7, £7 5s to £8 12s fid; springing heifers, £4 10s, £4 15s, £fi ss, £fi 7s Cd, £7, £7 7s fid, £8 12s 6d, £8 17s Gd, £9, £9 ss, £9 7s Cd; cows in milk, £4 to £6 10s; heifers in milk, £5, £5 5s to £G 10s; yearling Jersey heifers, £1 18s, £2 ss, £3 ss, £3 16s to £3 17s.
