Small Receipts From the Trentham Wet Canteen

TROOPS USE MODERATION Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Nov. 24. The receipts of tho dry canteen ut Trentham mobilisation camp are almost double those of tho wet. The wet side relates to tho sale of ale and dry to that of milk shakes, fruit, cigarettes, soft drinks and other sundries. The average consumption of ale is proving that the wet canteen is being availed of in great moderation. On the best selling day the average has been less than a pint a man and ou most days less than half a pint. The respective figures of the two sections of the canteen and the averago consumption are each c\nclusive proof of a temperate spirit on the part of the soldiers.
