He added: “Elser would be made into a second Vanderlubbs (the Reichstag fire victim). Herr Himmler wants to get at the domestic (opposition and at the same time pet the ‘Hate England’ faction. “Hitler will probably disappear one day and then probably it will be Black Front work and we will not be ashamed to admit it. Y,ou can accept my word we have nothing to do with this hundred per cent. Gestapo job.” Strasser prophesied that Hitlerism would crumple by the spring.
