SCHEME FOR SCOTTISH DOCTORS A scheme among doctors for the pooling of all income above £I,OOO so that those remaining at home may Help others on service is mentioned in a letter from Aberdeen from Mrs. R. S. Aitken, wife of the professor of Medicine at Aberdeen, who was formerly a New Zealand Rhodes Scholar, states an exchange. Tho letter was received in Christchurch this week. “There is a scheme afoot here among the doctors,” the letter states, “whereby thoso who stay will help those who are on service. All income above £I,OOO is going into a pool and will be drawn on to make up the income of tho absentees (to £1,000), and any surplus will be returned to tho donors in proportion to their donations. “Some of tho consultants and practitioners have no practice left,” the letter adds. “Only very urgent work comes in.
