United States Needs Wool Supplies From Dominions
NEW YORK. Oct. 20. The New York World commercial editor states that authoritative observers in the wool trade are confident that the the British Government will shortly announce its decision to release part of the Australian and New Zealand wool clips to the United States and other cou.oyies This year the need for imports into the United States is more acute than usual, due to a combination of low domestic supplies and above-average consumption. Supplies of apparel wools in the United States on September 1 were 13 per cent, under the average for the past 10 years. It is realised that the neutrality law may be an important factor in the wool business, since Allied purchases in the United States will require dollar balances, which could be created through the sale of Australian and New Zealand wool at good prices.
