NEVER MORE POPULAR IN FEILDING Kitchen gardens in Feilding and district have never been more popular and the nurserymen of the district report an unsatisfied demaud for vegetable plants. The unprecedented enthusiasm Lor cultivating idle land for the growing of vegetables set in immediately alter the outbreak of war, when there was a record demand for plants for spring planting. The favourable weatho conditions influenced this and exceptional business was done by nurserymen, sales during {September constituting a record. Unfortunately the weather failed to hold good and with several, frosts the early tender plants suffered. However this did not abate the enthusiasm for gardening, for the knowledge that everyone should grow something against a possible shortage of foodstuffs gave the gardener further
