A weak anti-cyclone now covers the Dominion but the pressure is commencing to fall in the far south with the slow approach of a depression across the ■South Tasman. Winds: South-westerly at first in Auckland province; otherwise north to north-west prevailing, force moderate mainly but freshening about and south of Co k Strait. Seas (New Zealand waters): Becoming rough south of Cape Egmont and about Cook and Foveaux Straits; slight and moderate elsewhere. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light and variable winds with slight seas in the northern portion; freshening northerly winds and rising seas in the southern portion. Weather: For the most part fair to fine but unsettled conditions developing later in Westland and Southland. Frosts probable to-night in the South Island but temperatures mild tomorrow.
