U-Boats in American Waters
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITIES OF INTERNED LINER Received Sunday, 7.20 p.m. NEW YORK, Oct. 14. Tho New York Times’ Mexico City correspondent states that there is no doubt one or more submarines are ready to operate in the Caribbean Sea. Reports that German ships in Mexico are aiding tho submarines has caused an official watch. The liner Columbus has been moved to an isolated anchorage and tho crew placed on short ration. l ] despite the heavy loading of stores. Two boats alongside the liner can be used at night to carry provisions to sea. The tanker Enny Fridrich is anchored at Port Tampico loading oil and livestock supposedly for delivery to German craft. Officials stato they are ready to act with severity if there is evidence of the violation of neutrality.
