From Our Own Correspondent. District High School A meet of the Foxton District High School committee was held on .-Monday evening presided over by Mr W. *R. McKenzie. It was decided to make application for six weeks’ extension of the time for tho employment of tli3 two men, who are at present working on the ground under the No. 13 Scheme. A letter, together with a lengthy circular was received from the board, advising of a special committee’s recommendation in connection with visual education in schools. As the installation of a moving picture machine or a flint strip projector would of great educational -value in the school it was decided to defer consideration of the matter until a later date. The committee endorsed the action of the chairman and the secretary in procuring the heaters. The visitors for the month reported ou the general improvement work being carried out on the school grounds and paid a tribute to the two men employed for the efficient manner in w’hich the work was being attended to. A vote of thanks was uecorded Mr H. A. Hannay for his offer ol the use of a lorry ana driver to carl manuka required at the school and also further loads of clay for tho cricket pitches. Mr Hannay was also thanked for supp]> ing 40 gallons of oil to paint the Jar • rah post round the tennis courts. Messrs H. A. Hannay and H. H. Podmore .wei’Q Mjuoiated visitors for the month.
