FISHER BEATS BAKER Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Aug. 6. In a professional welterweight boxing contest between Norman Fisher (Christchurch, 10.3) and Dick Baker (Invercargill, 10.1) Fisher won on a technical knock-out after six rounds. Fisher opened an injury abovo Baker’s left eye in the third round and after the sixth round a doctor examined the injury and tho fight was then stopped. SCHMELING TO FIGHT NEUSEL Received Sunday, 9.20 p.m. BERLIN, Aug. 5. Scbmcling will defend the European middleweight title against Neusel et Dortmund on October 1.
