Ter Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 26. In the House to-day Air. 11. S. 58. Kyle (Riccarton) gave notice to ask the Prime Minister whether the Government had utilised the reserve of the common fund of the Public Trust funds to the extent of £2,000,000 odd. Air W. J. Poison (Stratford) gave notice to ask the Alinistor of Justice whether he was awaro that trade union workers in various parts of the Dominion were being constrained to subscribe to shares in the proposed Labour daily newspapers whether they wished to oi not and were being threatened with fines if they failed to attend meetings of their unions. If this wero so ALr. Poison asked what steps tho Minister proposed to take to restore these people’s liberty of action and freedom of choice. Air. W. J. Broadfoot (Waitomo) gave notice to ask the Alinister of Industries and Commerce wether the Government had received a report on tho Dominion ’» iron resources from British experts and whether this report would be circulated among all tho members of tho House or merely to Government members as had the previous report on the same subject.
The Alinister of Industries and Commerce (Hon. D. G Sullivan) on a point of order objected to Mr. Broadfoot’s reference to tho previous report being confined to Government members only and stated that it had also been available to Opposition members. The Speaker (Hon. W. E. Barnard) upheld the Minister’* objection and the reference to the previous report was deleted from the question. The Attorney-General (Hon. H. G. R. Mason) gave notice to introduce the following Bills: Property Law Amendment Bill, Hire and Purchase Bill, and Legitimation Bill.
