Divorce Petitions Succeed

A decree nisi in divorce was obtained by Lawrence Weaver, of Christchurch, settler, in tho Supreme Court at Palmerston North yesterday on the ground of ad ' cry by liis wife, Josephine ElizabA.i Weaver, of Palmerston North, Rex Orchard, of Palmerston North, mill employee, being named as co-respond-ent. Tho parties were married at Christchurch in December, 192 S and lived together until 1937. There is one child and interim custody of it was given to the mother, with whom it has been since the separation. Air A. AI. Ongley appeared for petitioner. Raynor Bond Shearer, of Palmerston North, sought a dissolution of his marriage with Nola Jessie Shearer, of Kercone, on tho ground of lier adultery with William Henry Steed, of Kereone, sharemilker. After hearing evidence, His Honour granted a decree nisi, with custody of the one child of the marriage to petitioner. Mr L. Laurenson appeared for petitioner.
