Financial Negotiations in London
OPPOSITION ASKS FOR INFORMATION Ter Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 25. j Asked by the leader of the OpposiI tion (Hon. A. Hamilton) when the j House met to-day, why he had not made 1 a statement in the House on Friday I outlining the conclusions of the negotiations in London by the Minister of Finance, and also when he proposed to give the House an opportunity to discuss this important subject, the Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. M. J. Ravage) stated that, in the first place, the action by the Government was in liuc with the agreement between the British Ministers and Hon. Walter Nash that I simultaneous statements on the subject bo published in Britain and New Zealand. The Government had kept that agreement to the letter. As far as a discussion of the negotiations by the House was concerned, honourable members would get plenty of opportunity to discuss them during the Budget debate. In fact there had been considerable discussion on the negotiations already, although members were not familiar with the details thereof. (Laughter).
