Fer Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 24. The main centre of the recent depressions is now east of the South Island and the pressure is rising generally. Secondary disturbances, however, are Btill likely to cross the Dominion. Winds: Strong south-westerly generally, probably reaching gale force in exposed positions on the cast coast and in the north and south. Seas (New Zealand waters): High north of Cape Egmont and about Fovcaux Strait; rough elsewhere on the west coast and rising considerably south of East Cape. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong southwesterly winds to gales and rough to high seas. Weather: Fair in Westland, otherwise stormy and changeable with frequent showers; hail probable in places. Temperatures becoming very cold with snow on the higher country q 1 both Islands and extending to parts of the lower levels in Canterbury, Otago and Southland.
