Onions From Japan

(To the Editor.) —I am emphatically in sympathy with the Chinese of this country in decidiug to make a stand against the importation of Japanese onions. N«*t only does this intended importation offend our most loyal fellow citizens, the Chinese, but should rouse the indignation of all those who are lovai to the British flag. Through the buying lrom or selling to Japan in the present crisis we are virtually sanctioning the ghastly murders and insulting behaviour being meted out to Doth Chinese and Europeans in the East. We should neither sell nor buy from Germany or Japan until these two countries have returned to sane and rational behaviour. I strongly appreciate the fact that the grocers a/e standing side by side with the Chinese in this matter. —1 am, etc., THOS. YOUNG, j 1 itzherbert West, July 21, 1939.
