Pahiatua Race Ball

MANY VISITORS EXPECTED The Pahiatua race ball always marks an important event on the calendar of festivity, but this year's function, to take place in tho Drill Hall on Wednesday next promises to exceed all previous efforts. It is anticipated that a record attendance will be present to join in tho revelry that is timed to commence at 8.30 p.m. and continue until 3 o 'clock in the morning. Partios of merrymakers from as far afield as Wellington, Napier and Wanganui have accepted invitations to be present at this, Pahiatua's most brilliant function. Music for the ball will be supplied by Phil Campbell’s Australian dance band. An open invitation to tho ball is extended to the public of Pahiatua and surrounding districts.

Attention is drawn to an advertisemnt in this issue inviting applications from young men to fill various vacancies in the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Applications close on August I next.
