Considering the inclement weather the attendance was fairly good. At the quarterly meeting of the Ashhurst, Pohangina and Bunnythorpe Circuit Rev. U. Richurds was in the chair, and, this being his first meeting since coming to the district, he was accorded a welcome by the circuit steward. Mr. G. Devonport tendered his resignation to the board on account of failing health and his resignation was accepted with regret. He has been a valued member for many years and a letter of appreciation for his laithful and untiring efforts for the church's welfare is to be forwarded to him. The parsonage alterations were discussed and it was decided that a meeting of the trustees be called at an early date to decide whether the present dwelling be sold and a new one built or whether it be renovated. The monthly meeting of the ladles' guild was presided over by the president, Mrs. A. Currie. A good attendance was present in spite of a bleak afternoon. A. the bring and buy stall the response of the members was very creditable. The amount raised was £2 Is, which is donated to the parsonage fund. The next meeting, in August, is to be a “pillow case" afternoon, when members are asked to bring along a pillow case in preparation for a coming sale. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Sumner, Currie and Muldrock.
