Skins and Hides
Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report:—An average offering was submitted at today’s sale to a full bench of buyers. A good clearance was effected at prices Bhowing little change on the previous sale’s quotations. Sheepskins: All grades met keen competition with sound pelted full wools selling at unchanged prices. Damaged and inferior lines were slightly easier. Hides: All grades of ox and com- were slightly lower, the easing being generally l-8d per lb. Kip and yearling were unchanged, while calfskins were id per lb. dearer. Tallow: The offering was small, there being no quotable change in values. The following is the range of prices:— Sheepskins: Half bred, 7d to BJd; line Xbred, 7d to 9id;. medium Xbred, 6jd to 9id; coarse Xbred, CJd to 9id; haltxvools, ssd to 9d; quarter wools, 4sd to 7d; pelts, 2id to 4id. Hides: Ox, 33/441b5., 4 7-8 d to s*d; ox, 45/521b5., 4 3-8 d to s*d; ox, 53/591b5., 4*d to 6 1-Sd; ox, 60/691b».. 5 5-8 d to 6id; ox, 701bs. and over, 6d to 7sd; cow, 33/391b5., 4d to 8 5-8 d; cow, 40/4Slbs., 3|d to ssd; cow, 491bs. and over, 3d to ssd; kip, 25/321b5., 4 3-8 d to 6Jd; kip, 17/241b5., 4 5-8 d to 7sd; yearling, 11/161b5., 4 5-8 d to Bid; calf, 9/JOlbs., 5 1-Sd to 8 3-8 d; calf, 6/81bs., 6d to 10£d; calf, l/51bs., 3d to lOfd.
